Accomplished administrative and general contracting partners add expertise to largest mixed-use project under construction in Memphis.
Two new partner companies are joining the team responsible for bringing The Walk on Union to life. Memphis-based Allworld Project Management will lead coordination and logistics on the $367 million project in the heart of the city. In addition, commercial construction company Flintco, LLC is joining the team as lead general contractor. As Memphis’ largest mixed-use project currently in development, The Walk is designed to be a one-of-a-kind smart development and innovation hub, with a focus on reviving the soul of Downtown.
As unique as the city that surrounds it, The Walk is the only real-world, built environment in Memphis that sits in an Opportunity Zone. As the largest public/private partnership in the city’s history, the development is poised to serve as the area’s natural nexus of live, work and play which will activate the human pathways between the city’s business corridor, stadiums, cultural historic treasures and globally renowned health care centers.
Allworld will oversee coordination and logistics for development and construction of The Walk. With more than 10 years of industry experience, Allworld Project Management brings a deep, local understanding of Memphis’s past, present and future to the project. Noteable projects for AllWorld include the Crosstown Concourse, Memphis Central Station and the Mid-South Fairgrounds redevelopment.
“This one-of-a-kind smart development will transform this community and beyond through improvements to employment offerings, community solutions, diverse partnerships and sustainability efforts,” and Michael Hooks, Jr., the owner and CEO of Allworld Project Management. “I am thrilled that our team can apply our passion and talents to support the revitalization of this great city through the development of The Walk.”
Flintco joins the development team with more than a century of experience in the construction space. After opening its Memphis office 35 years ago, Flintco has become one of the Mid-South’s largest and most trusted commercial builders. Some of the company’s notable work in Memphis includes projects for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, AutoZone Innovation Zone, FedEx Air Operations Training Center Expansion, and the University of Memphis Pedestrian Bridge and Parking Garage. Flintco will oversee all construction at The Walk.
“The Walk represents an incredible opportunity for the city of Memphis, and I say that not only with an eye to strategic construction but also as a Memphis resident myself,” said Tim Weatherford, president of the Flintco’s southeast region. “Flintco is proud to lead construction efforts for this incredible development, which will not only elevate the city for those here now, but for generations to come.”
The Walk will be the largest mixed-use development in the region, with Phase 1 totaling $376 million. Unparalleled in quality, strategic location and market positioning, The Walk will connect Memphis with the future by helping transform the downtown area, serving as a long-needed catalyst to accelerate innovation for the city’s economic future. The development is poised to create thousands of employment opportunities from groundbreaking to grand opening, to the impact of ongoing operations within the fully realized destination that will support top-of-the line residential and retail offerings – including hospitality inches from world-famous Beale Street – as well as flexible office space with the first 5G in the region and an environment designed to optimize product mix, people flow and technology.
